Acura Integra GS-R
All fun with this by car set up four years ago. Then the owner of Acura Integra GS-R decided to change his vehicle.
It is necessary to admit that material used to the modification was excellent. Everybody surely perfectly knows
possibilities, that gives the engine V-Tec, and the body is also very interesting. In time, in the car appeared
new elements- under the mask there were made some mechanical alternations. All was made to reach as best and
most interested effect as possible.
The Engine
The individual which was assembled in Integra GS-R was V-Tec with the capacity 1.8 of the litre. The placed in rows
four, 16 valves, two rolls in the cap, the system of variable phases of the distribution, is the power 170 KM obtained
at 7600 obr/min. This engine can very efficiently cope with this car. This is the also excellent base to further
modifications.
The system of bringing {leading} of the fuel became equipped into fuel rail descended from AEM. The pressure on the
rail is placed by the regulator which also proceeds from offers AEM. In the cabin is found the ticket collector Apexi
V-Tec AFC. The value of the pressure of the fuel we can control on control panel made by B&M.
After the system of bringing {leading} of the fuel, time came for the air intake. It became completely rebuilt. The
suction collector JG Edelbrock, at first sight is greater from serial one. To use the best possibilities of the new
collector one attempted also for the foundation of the new throttle Edelbrock. She is for 25 % greater from serial.
Air is led by intake proceeding from Iceman. It is finished with a cone-shaped filter which is placed behind the
buffer. There, it has suitable conditions to work.
The next step is the change in the expiratory system. Efficient accompanying of combustion gases from cylinders of
the engine is a very important thing, we don't need to convince nobody about that. An exhaust manifold 4 in 1 JDM
Type-R. Farther we can found the exhalation HKS. The final silencer seems very pompously under the back buffer. Not
only ideally arises from its own assignments, but also is quite quiet and looks very nice. (bears on affirmative
experiencings optical and aural)
We have to mention about the things, which cannot be seen with the naked eye. Under the cap one founded the gasket
from Mugena. Rolls of the distribution about the sports- characterization and valvular springs were executed by Skunk2.
All that is hidden under the red cover of valves. One exchanged also lines of high the tension. The fate of serial
rolls divided also circles of the distribution. These were made by the firm STR.
The Body
Presented Acura was produced in 1994. At first she looked a little otherwise. After many stylistic changes she
gathered its own individual character. The front of the car became exchanged and proceeds from the younger model
98-01. All marks, now in the black colour, one bought from OEM. The body enriched complete body kit JDM Type-R.
Spoiler on the valve of the carrier Type-R. Side- trafficators , and these situated in the buffer, one exchanged
on new. Side- pocket looking-glasses was replaced by equivalents from SPOON. One executed it from the carboniferous
period.
Overseas it became a standard to exchanging the droop-snoot and the supersession it by product executed from the
carboniferous period. In Poland anyway, we also observe the height of arousing with this material. The mask to Integra
was made by VIS. It is a very interested variety both colouristic as and aesthetical. But mainly it was made for
tearing off of the mass. Material is lighter and more resistant. VIS is also under the mask. The carbonic slat
covers lines on the cover of valves.
The Interior
One worked very hard in the interior, and all that for liken the model GS-R to top Type-R. Hangings, rugs, they
remind these from the firmer version. The back sofa replaced this from Integra Typer-R, and seams additionally were
executed with red thread. The cockpit was covered by the carbonic veneer , adding more sports- character. The driver
and the passenger sit down in (kubelkowych) arm-chairs by Corbeau. To the complete set one added 4 punctual safety
belts Sparco. In such harness we can travel in calm. Under legs the driver has pedals being descended from MOMO, the
arrayed gear lever is a SPOON knob.
Playing equipment is also here. The owner thought about all. The all installation in the most is leaning on parts
Alpine and Infinity. The control unit Alpine CDA-7876, the amplifier MRV-F357. Loud-speakers installed in the car
are Alpine SPR-17A R-Series about the diameter 6.5 inch and Infinity Kappa 5-1/4 inch. In the carrier we will find
12” subwoofer by Infinity Kappa Perfect. The whole was connected with lines from the firm Phoenix.
The Drive
Changes in the engine call out following modifications. The power and the moment grown up, so it was important thing
to suitable carriage of these values on circles. In the front line went the clutch. Serial was taken place with the
product from ACT (Advanced Clutch Technology). More efficiently glad with the transfer of the moment and can hold out
greater weights. Later, the time came on the flywheel. The aluminium- equivalent with the smaller mass was chosen from
the Fidanza offer. For more shorten the time of the change of racing in the arrangement system appeared Short Shifter
B&M. A tie with a road surface are tyres Yokohama Parada Spec2 204 /40/ZR17. They were stretched on aluminium hoops
Racing Hart CP8-R. Painted in black with the shiny, polished rim look very pompously.
The Suspension and Brakes
Finally it came time on the assurance of the suitable safety during the drive. After the engine and stylistic changes,
the owner decided to take care for the greater efficiency of the braking system and to stiffen a little the suspension
of his own Integra.
Springs H&R about the progressive characterization are conspicuous with the greater stiffness. Perhaps we lose some
comfort but gains the sport. Surely that’s why japanese created this car, so that he deliver as much sports- experiences
as possible. Under the mask and also behind of the car there were fastened struts by SPOON.
Brake backplates Brembo on both axes are both countersinked as and serrated. This favours to better accompanying of
impurities and has a big influance on the efficiency of brakes. Blocks EBC are cooperating with them. There is missing
maybe the greater clamps, but hold on… Not all in the same time! These serial clamps became only painted on the silver
colour.
It is necessary to admit that Integra looks very pompously. All have been “touched” and like this came into being very
interesting car. From this what I know this not the end of works. The owner still sees things which can be improve.
What next? Eibach stabilizers, AEM sheaves, the differential, carbonic additionals… the Time will show. |
